Specialist cleaning and remediation following traumatic incidents, accidents and released crime scenes where blood, bodily fluids or other biological material may be present.
Supporting landlords, housing providers, insurers, property managers and commercial organisations across Northern England and into Scotland.
Properties affected by traumatic incidents can require significantly more than routine cleaning. Blood, bodily fluids and other biological material may affect flooring, furnishings, fixtures and concealed areas, creating hazards that need to be managed using appropriate PPE, controlled working methods and specialist cleaning procedures.
Bio-Shield provides discreet trauma and crime scene cleaning following accidents, violent incidents and other traumatic events. Where a property is subject to an active police or other investigation, work will only begin once access has been authorised and the affected area has been released for cleaning and remediation.
Controlled cleaning and remediation of areas affected by blood, bodily fluids and other biological material following traumatic incidents.
Specialist cleaning of properties affected by an unattended death once the relevant authorities have released the scene.
Cleaning and decontamination following assaults or other violent incidents where biological material has affected the property.
Remediation following serious accidents or injuries within residential, managed or commercial premises.
Specialist cleaning once police, coroners or other relevant authorities have completed their work and formally released the affected area.
Each situation is assessed to establish the affected areas, the level of contamination and the work required. Once access has been authorised, we carry out the cleaning and remediation using appropriate PPE, controlled procedures and compliant waste handling.
Once the scene has been released, we assess the affected areas, identify visible and potential biological hazards and establish appropriate PPE, access controls and working methods.
Biological material, affected waste and materials that cannot be safely retained are removed where required before surfaces and surrounding areas are thoroughly cleaned.
Remaining surfaces are treated where appropriate, waste is handled through suitable disposal routes and any damage or further remedial requirements identified during the work are highlighted.
Following a traumatic incident, biological material may spread beyond the immediately visible area. Liquids can penetrate flooring, soft furnishings, joints, edges and porous materials or migrate into voids and spaces beneath fixtures.
For this reason, remediation is based on the extent of the affected area rather than simply cleaning what can be seen at surface level.
Where materials cannot be effectively cleaned or decontaminated, removal may be required. Once affected material has been removed, exposed surfaces can be cleaned and treated using methods appropriate to the environment and the biological hazards present.
Particular attention is given to floor edges, joints, enclosed spaces, furnishings and other locations where material may have travelled beyond the original incident area.
Where damage or defects are identified during the work, these will be highlighted so that any necessary repairs or further remedial works can be arranged.
